Frequently Asked Questions

Who does the work?

Exclusively me – no outsourcing or subcontracting. As your dedicated SEO Manager, I’m your primary point of contact for all your needs.

What resources are necessary to implement SEO activities successfully?

To implement SEO activities effectively, we’ll need additional support from either your in-house team or an external contractor. We’ll require a web developer, a content writer, and someone capable of making website changes. If these resources aren’t available internally, I can recommend independent specialists from my network. I also have development experience, and most of the time, if it’s just a quick edit, I usually handle it myself, but I make sure to inform the specialist who is handling these tasks.

Can you walk us through your experience with keyword research and how you prioritize keywords for SEO campaigns?

Keyword research is a crucial part of my SEO process. I typically start by using tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Google Keyword Planner to identify relevant keywords with high search volume and medium-to-low competition. I then prioritize keywords based on factors like relevance, search intent, traffic potential, and competition level. Longtail and question-based keywords are often great opportunities.

What strategies would you implement to improve organic search rankings and drive traffic to our website?

As an experienced SEO manager, I would be delighted to share my strategies and insights with you.

To improve organic search rankings and drive traffic, I would implement a comprehensive SEO strategy that includes:

  • Thorough keyword research to identify relevant, high-volume keywords
  • On-page optimization (titles, meta descriptions, headings, content, etc.) using those keywords
  • Technical SEO audits and fixes (site architecture, crawlability, speed, etc.)
  • Content creation (blog posts, guides, etc.) that targets specific keywords and provides value
  • Link building through outreach, guest posting, and other white-hat tactics
  • Local SEO optimization (Google Business Profile, citations, reviews, etc.) if applicable
  • Continuous monitoring and adjustment based on performance data

What tools do you typically use for SEO analysis and reporting? How do you leverage data to optimize SEO performance?

I typically use a combination of tools for SEO analysis and reporting, such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and others. These tools help me monitor rankings, traffic, backlinks, technical issues, and other SEO metrics. I leverage this data to identify opportunities, track progress, and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance.

How do you stay updated with the latest SEO trends and algorithm changes? Can you provide examples of how you've adapted your strategies accordingly?

Staying updated with the latest SEO trends and algorithm changes is essential. I regularly follow industry blogs, attend webinars/conferences, and participate in online communities to learn about updates from Google and other search engines. For example, when Google’s Helpful Content Update rolled out in 2022, I adjusted my content strategy to focus more on in-depth, authoritative content that provides genuine value to users.

Have you managed SEO for e-commerce websites before? If so, what specific challenges have you encountered, and how did you address them?

Yes, I have extensive experience managing SEO for e-commerce websites. Some common challenges I’ve encountered include optimizing product pages, handling large catalogs with similar content, improving site speed and navigation, and implementing structured data effectively. To address these, I’ve optimized product descriptions, used canonical tags and content clusters, implemented lazy loading and CDNs, and worked closely with developers to implement structured data properly.

How do you approach on-page optimization and content creation for SEO purposes?

For on-page optimization and content creation, I follow a strategic approach:

  • Conduct keyword research to identify relevant topics and search queries
  • Analyze search intent and create content that genuinely answers user queries
  • Optimize content using target keywords in titles, headings, meta descriptions, etc.
  • Ensure content is well-structured, easy to read, and visually appealing
  • Implement technical on-page SEO best practices (schema markup, image optimization, etc.)

Can you share your experience with link building strategies? How do you ensure quality backlinks and avoid penalties from search engines?

I love using Buzzstream for link building activities. I focus on quality over quantity. My strategies include:

  • Creating high-quality, shareable content that naturally attracts backlinks
  • Guest posting on relevant, authoritative websites
  • Pursuing brand mentions and broken link building opportunities
  • Collaborating with industry influencers and partners
  • Monitoring and disavowing any low-quality or spammy links to avoid penalties

In your opinion, what are the most common technical SEO issues websites face, and how do you troubleshoot and resolve them?

Common technical SEO issues I’ve encountered include crawl errors, duplicate content, slow page speed, indexing issues, and mobile usability problems. To troubleshoot these, I use tools like Google Search Console, crawlers (Screaming Frog, DeepCrawl), and PageSpeed Insights. I then work closely with developers to implement fixes, such as optimizing server configurations, minifying code, compressing resources, and improving mobile responsiveness.

Have you worked with international SEO campaigns targeting multiple languages or regions? If yes, how did you manage localization and optimize for different markets?

Yes, I have experience with international SEO campaigns targeting multiple languages and regions. For these, I create localized content and optimize for relevant keywords in each target market. I also ensure proper implementation of hreflang tags, country-specific URLs/domains, and other technical requirements. Additionally, I collaborate with local teams or partners to ensure cultural nuances and local search habits are accounted for.

How do you measure the success of an SEO campaign? What key performance indicators (KPIs) do you track, and how do you report on them to stakeholders?

To measure the success of an SEO campaign, I track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as:

  • Organic traffic and conversions (sales, leads, etc.)
  • Keyword rankings for target phrases
  • Backlink acquisition and Domain Authority/Page Authority
  • Technical SEO metrics (site speed, crawl errors, indexing, etc.)
  • Engagement metrics (bounce rate, average session duration, etc.)

I typically create comprehensive SEO reports that present this data in a clear and actionable way for stakeholders.

Can you provide examples of successful SEO campaigns you've led in the past? What were the results, and what strategies contributed to their success?

One successful SEO campaign I led was for an e-commerce client in the home appliance industry. Through a combination of technical optimizations, content creation, and link building, we were able to:

  • Increase organic traffic by 47% year-over-year
  • Improve rankings for over 200 high-volume keywords
  • Acquire over 150 high-quality backlinks
  • Achieve a 23% increase in online sales

Key strategies included optimizing product pages, creating buyer’s guides and FAQ content, implementing structured data, and pursuing guest posting opportunities.

How do you collaborate with other teams, such as content, marketing, and web development, to integrate SEO best practices into their work?

Collaboration with other teams is essential for successful SEO integration. I work closely with:

  • Content teams to ensure SEO best practices are followed in content creation
  • Marketing teams to align SEO efforts with broader marketing campaigns and goals
  • Web development teams to address technical SEO issues and implement optimizations
  • Analytics teams to track and report on SEO performance metrics

Regular meetings, documentation, and training sessions help ensure seamless collaboration.

Have you ever dealt with a Google penalty or a significant drop in organic traffic? If so, how did you diagnose the issue and recover from it?

I have dealt with Google penalties and traffic drops in the past. In one instance, a client’s website was hit with a manual penalty for unnatural link building practices. To recover, I:

  • Audited the backlink profile and disavowed all spammy/low-quality links
  • Removed any thin or duplicated content from the site
  • Implemented technical fixes for crawl errors and site architecture issues
  • Submitted a reconsideration request to Google after addressing all violations

After several months of cleanup work, the penalty was lifted, and organic traffic gradually recovered.

What do you think are the most important factors for mobile SEO optimization? How do you ensure a website is mobile-friendly and performs well on mobile devices?

For mobile SEO optimization, the most important factors are:

  • Ensuring the website is fully responsive and mobile-friendly
  • Optimizing page speed and performance on mobile devices
  • Implementing Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) for faster load times
  • Ensuring technical mobile usability (no flash, readable font sizes, etc.)
  • Optimizing for mobile-specific user behaviors and search queries

I use tools like Google’s Mobile-Friendly Test, PageSpeed Insights, and mobile crawlers to identify and fix any mobile usability issues.

Are you eligible to work in the US and other countries outside PH? Are you looking for visa sponsorship anytime soon?

I prefer working remotely and do not require visa sponsorship. Throughout my career, I have successfully worked with multiple clients without any issues. I have signed numerous contracts, consistently ensuring all documents are in order without encountering any problems.

Hiring Filipino Talent: Key Considerations

Language proficiency: Are Filipino workers proficient enough in English to effectively communicate with clients and team members?

English proficiency among Filipinos varies, but overall it is quite high, especially compared to other countries in the region. English is an official language and is widely used in business, education, and government.

Cultural differences: Will there be any cultural barriers that could hinder collaboration or understanding in the workplace?

As with any cross-cultural collaboration, there may be some cultural differences to be aware of, but We, Filipinos have significant exposure to Western culture. Clear communication and mutual understanding are key.

Time zone differences: How will the significant time zone difference between the Philippines and the US impact communication and workflow?

The Philippines is 12-16 hours ahead of the US, depending on the location. This could require adjustments to schedules and working hours on both sides to facilitate real-time collaboration. As for me, I am used to work on US time zones and there is no problem with my reliability.

Work ethic: Are there any concerns about the work ethic of Filipino workers compared to workers from other countries?

This can vary widely between individuals regardless of national background. I have a strong work ethic, dedication, and resilience. I am often willing to go the extra mile to complete tasks and meet deadlines.

Reliability: Can Filipino workers be relied upon to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work consistently?

Again, this can vary significantly between individuals. As an SEO manager, I have a strong track record of reliability and consistent performance. Meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results are non-negotiables for me. I prioritize clear communication and accountability to ensure that projects run smoothly. My references can confirm my commitment to professionalism and reliability. I look forward to bringing this same dedication to any future projects.

Client Feedback

Efryll was the first guy I hired from Iloilo City and we worked together for over 2 years. During this time my team in the Philippines grew to 30 people – most from Iloilo using the help of Efryll.

All the Iloilo team was recruited and managed by Efryll and I fully trusted his decisions about bringing in more people and handling more complex tasks.

We also personally met and spent a few days together when I went to meet the team in Iloilo.

I highly recommend Efryll and the other team members.

P.S.: I’m currently focused on Chinese market so unfortunately can’t work with Efryll and the guys now but do hope to have a chance to work again in the future.

Efryll is very easy to communicate with.

He built websites, managed all my hosting accounts, and did SEO work for me. He never “disappeared”, and more importantly, he was always honest with me. If he needed an adjustment in the schedule or time off, he would just tell me, and he always kept up with his work. I don’t think he ever had a sick day.

He actually didn’t need much “management” on my end. Once he knew what I needed, he just did it. He always took the initiative to research and figure things out without being told. I like him more than any other PH team member I’ve ever had.

I can highly recommend Efryll. If you need anything else, please feel free to reach out.
